Chin surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone. Chin surgery helps provide a harmonious balance to your facial features. Many times a plastic surgeon may recommend chin surgery to a patient having nose surgery in order to achieve facial proportion, as the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose.

Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in the second layer of skin (the dermis) which "plumps up" the lips, cheeks or other areas. Injections fill out sunken areas and smoothe lines for a rejuvenated look.

BOTOX® Cosmetic, or botulinum toxin type A, is a protein used to non-surgically reduce facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck.

BOTOX® Cosmetic and collagen injections are provided through Escape MediSpa. Click here to visit our spa site now.

Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It can be a cosmetic procedure and can also improve vision by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. The procedure can be combined with a facelift or BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.

A facelift can considerably reduce signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening the underlying muscles, and redraping the skin around the neck and face. Facelifts can be done alone or performed in conjunction with another procedure such as a browlift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping. If your problem areas are limited to the neck, a more conservative procedure known as a necklift will be recommended. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears, and scars fade to near invisibility in time.

Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you to look less angry, sad or tired. Using either traditional or minimally invasive (endoscopic) methods, the muscles above the eyes are altered to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty and facelifts.

One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, rhinoplasty is performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person's nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or to correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing. It may be performed along with chin surgery for a harmonious balance of facial features.

Full and vivacious lips have always been recognized as aesthetically important features. Some of us, however, are born with thin, ill-defined lips, or our lips lose their fullness with age. But the appearance of our lips is now within our control. Fine lines and wrinkles, thin lips and a drooping corner of the mouth are all treatable areas.

Chemical peels can improve the appearance and texture of the skin. Retin-A (Retinoic Acid) produces a mild, superficial peel of the skin using a high concentration of Vitamin A. The major benefit is to decrease the effects of sunlight caused by aging by increasing the speed with which the surface cells of the skin are replaced.

Laser skin resurfacing removes the outer damaged layer of skin for a smoother, younger look. Laser peels can reduce the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven pigmentation and superficial scarring, usually on the face. A carbon dioxide (CO2) laser beam of intense, precisely focused light vaporizes the surface skin and reveals the undamaged layer beneath. Procedure time varies depending on the size and severity of the area being treated and whether it is combined with other procedures.

Scar revision is performed to reduce the appearance of scars caused by injury or previous surgery. Scars are by definition permanent, but surgery can narrow, fade and otherwise reduce the appearance of severe or unattractive scarring, which is especially helpful in areas of cosmetic importance such as the face and hands. The effectiveness of scar reduction depends on a number of factors, including the nature of the injury, your body's healing mechanism, the size and depth of the wound, how much blood supplies the area and the thickness and color of your skin.

A neck lift or chin liposuction is performed to remove excess fat beneath the chin and tighten loose skin in the neck. A less invasive alternative to a facelift, the procedure can produce dramatic results in the patient whose chin and/or neck has sagged with age or after weight loss.

Contour Threads are thin, flexible sutures that are threaded underneath the skin from the ear to the hairline to rejuvenate sagging foreheads, eyebrows and cheeks. When the threads are pulled gently, tiny barbs lift the sagging tissue into a subtly higher, more youthful position that reflects the patient's natural facial contours. The sutures are left in place to maintain the effects, which are further enhanced and supported over time as the body produces natural collagen and elastin fibers around the threads. The entire procedure takes about an hour under local anesthesia.
