Laser skin resurfacing, commonly called a laser peel, removes the outer, often damaged layer of skin for a smoother, younger look. Laser resurfacing can reduce the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven pigmentation and superficial scarring, usually on the face. The Erbium laser beam of intense, precisely-focused light vaporizes the surface skin and reveals the undamaged layer beneath. Procedure time varies depending on the size and severity of the area being treated and whether it is combined with other procedures such as a browlift or eyelid surgery for even more dramatic results.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology uses high-energy pulses of light to provide long-lasting results with only a slight sting. IPL skin resurfacing, collagen stimulation, vein therapy and photoepilation improve skin texture and appearance and remove hair from any area of the body without damaging nearby tissue. Hair, veins or pigmented regions on the skin surface selectively absorb the pulses of light, shrinking or fading after treatment; collagen tightens, smoothing the skin. Patients can return to work and all regular activities immediately after the procedure. Skin appearance should improve soon after treatment. Hair loss is immediate and long-lasting. Several treatments may be desired for optimal results.

Dermabrasion removes a layer of surface skin to improve the appearance of facial scarring due to acne, chicken pox, injury or other causes, as well as uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, sun damage, tattoos, age spots and certain kinds of skin lesions. The skin is frozen, typically with a spray, and then abraded with a high-speed rotary instrument for a dramatically smoother, fresher look. After the procedure it is normal to feel a sensation similar to sunburn for a week or so, at which time most patients are able to return to work. The newly revealed skin will likely appear pinker than usual for two to three months. Patients should be sure to adequately protect skin from sunlight.

Millions of women and men are bothered by unsightly veins on their faces and legs. Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are those small red, blue and purple blood vessels that appear most frequently on the face and thighs. Varicose veins are usually larger than 1/4 inch in diameter and may appear raised with a bluish color. They may also be related to more serious vein disorders and require a careful evaluation by your doctor prior to treatment.

Today's medical lasers provide safe and effective non-surgical treatment options for the removal of spider and varicose veins. Our new, advanced laser treatments allow us to deliver a precise dosage of energy to each vein. During your treatment, light energy is delivered to the targeted vein in a series of brief pulses. The light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels, but not by the surrounding tissue. This heat absorption causes a coagulation of the blood vessel, eventually destroying the vessel.
